Finish Excavator Operator– PENTICTON, BC

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

We are looking for a Finish Excavator Operator in the – PENTICTON area for a 1-2 month project. Quality candidates will be offered the opportunity to also work in our Alberta and Western Canada operations after project completion.

Job Type: Full Time, project basis. Option to extend to Full-time, seasonal for the right candidates

Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 40hr/week

Pay Range: $34-38 per hour depending on experience

Location: Initial project in PENTICTON. Potential options for Western Canada

Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

Requirements:   

• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support

Pre-employment:

• Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Finish Excavator Operator Responsibilities:

• Safe operation of excavator as it pertains to stripping, ditching, sloping, leveling
• Operate excavator in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Finish Excavator Operator Qualifications:

• Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as an excavator operator.
• Experience with finishing work required.
