Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

2025 Season 5% RETENTION BONUS (*as per qualifying requirements)

 

Job Type: Full Time, Seasonal

Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Location: Edmonton and Surrounding Area’s - no direct access to public transportation

Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

 

 

Requirements:   

  • Personal Reliable Vehicle
  • CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
  • Valid Driver’s License (non GDL)

Pre-employment:

  • Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
  • Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

 

Pipelayer Helper Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Pipelayer in the installation of the pipe for the water and sewer division.
  • Side tamp the sand around the pipe.
  • Lube plastic pipe, assist in joining the pipe.
  • Help with bedding grading sand/rock.
  • Gets tools required for the installation of pvc pipe/cement pipe.
  • Responsible for lining up the concrete pipe with the connecting pipe.
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

 

Pipelayer Helper Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience pipelayer helper, or 3 years’ water & sewer labourer. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills required.
  • Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
  • Must have proven ability to work in tight spots.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions.
