Pipefitter- JM or 3^rd or 4^th year Apprentice

Job Type: Full Time

Schedule: 8+ Hours/day, Fab Shop: Monday-Saturday, Schedule as per Operational Requirements, OT after 8hr/day or 40hr/week

Location: Fab Shop: 7331 – 18 Street NW, Edmonton, AB - no direct access to public transportation.

Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

Requirements:    

• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
• Previous experience in a fabrication shop

Pre-employment:

• Drug and alcohol testing swab-based
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
• Mask Fit Testing

Apprentice Pipefitter Responsibilities:

• Must be proficient with measuring, cutting, threading, grinding and bending of pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Read and interpret blue prints and drawings.
• Utilize oxy/acetylene hand torches, grinders, and bevellers in an efficient and safe manner.
• Use proper rigging techniques.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Apprentice Qualifications:

• Must have a valid Journey person certificate
• Must be actively registered in the AIT program and working towards obtaining Journeyman or Red Seal Equivalent Steamfitter - Pipefitter Ticket.

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Experience with hydro testing is required.
