We offer a friendly, fast paced environment with plenty of room for career advancement, great benefits, and a strong team of professionals.   Sureway Construction Group of Companies is currently hiring for a Flag Person for our division in Edmonton and surrounding area.   Description: Reporting to the foreman, the job of the Flag person is to help keep traffic flowing through a construction zone, despite a shutdown of lanes.   Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Flag Person include, but are not limited to: - Ensuring that traffic cones and barricades are in designated areas. - Use hand signals, signs and verbal communication to ensure the motorists as well as the crew are safe. - Record any incidents where motorists are not complying with the direction of the flagger. - Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics. We offer a friendly, fast paced environment with plenty of room for career advancement, great benefits, and a strong team of professionals.   Sureway Construction Group of Companies is currently hiring Finish Dozer Operators for our division in Calgary. Please be advised that this is not a camp or LOA position.   Description: Reporting to the Foreman, the job of the Dozer Operator is the safe and efficient operation of the Dozer. The Dozer Operator slopes, levels, moves material and controls the direction and angle of the equipment in order to shape and contour the site.   Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the dozer operator include, but are not limited to: - Operate the dozer in a safe and appropriate manner. - Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. - Understand, interpret and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area. - Operate dozer controls to regulate height and angle of the dozer blade and lower scarifier to loosen packed soil to permit grading. - Feel levers and listen to equipment sounds to determine depth of the cut. - Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance. - Operate the Dozer in successive passes over construction surface to raise or lower terrain to specified grade, following markings on grade stakes or hand signals. - Use the Dozer to level soil, move rock, debris and material. - Sloping, push cat when needed and bulking. - Perform pre and post trip inspections which requires climbing on equipment. - Perform routine cleaning of Tracks/cab to ensure smooth operation of the dozer. - Ensure dozer is in proper gear, and is not moving too fast for working conditions. - Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings. - Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the dozer. - Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
